Waterproofing Process

Read about our process

  • Waterproofing is the process of applying a waterproof barrier around a wet area.

  • The waterproofing of bathrooms, laundries and balconies are regulated and require a specific application process and product selection. These processes and products must comply with Australian Standards and Building Codes.

  • Applying the correct process and products to your job prevents moisture/water from seeping through and damaging the underlying structure of the building.

  • We utilise industry expects and quality trade suppliers to ensure any challenging job is supported by the right products and application processes.

     Example

  • As an example, if we were to recommend a water-based flexible waterproofing membrane for your constructed bathroom, the product we recommend would be specifically designed for use under ceramic and stone tile finishes;

  • The unique formulation of a product like this would provide excellent workability and film build;

  • You would have a Class III (flexible) membrane that meets with AS 4858 & AS 4654

  • It would be fast curing;

  • The environment would have a low VOC response;

  • The membrane would have a fibre reinforcement;

  • Our finish would be compatible with a wide range of tile adhesives;

  • It would provide a permanently flexible barrier;

  • This application would be completely resistant to re-emulsification (when fully cured);

  • Our application would have excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates;

  • You would receive a 7-year warranty on our workmanship and product.
